Abisko Aurora Sky Station & ICEHOTEL Northern Lights Break

This special Northern Lights Ice Hotel package includes a visit to the world-famous Abisko Aurora Sky Station, voted by Nationl Geographic as one of the best places in the world to view the Northern Lights. After a night near the Sky Station you will then stay at Sweden’s famous Ice Hotel for one night in their amazing ice building and another in their warm accommodation.

Our Ice Hotel experts, Oliver & Lisa have both visited the Aurora Sky station at Abisko and can take care of all the arrangements for you using your preferred flight from the UK to Kiruna, transfers, accommodation at Sweden’s famous Ice Hotel and any other excursions you require such as husky rides and snowmobile trips.

Example itinerary – these can be adjusted to suit your requirements.

Day 1:

Fly from London to Kiruna via Stockholm (stop-over in Stockholm can be added if you wish).  Meet your transfer for the journey to your accommodation near Abisko Aurora Sky Station (approx. 1,5hrs depending on weather conditions). Please note, depending on your arrival time you may be transferred directly to the Sky Station.

To the west of Kiruna, the mountains of the Abisko National Park dominate the landscape. Located towards the summit of Mount Nuolja, in the heart of the range, stands the Aurora Sky Station which at a latitude of 68.2° offers one of the finest platfo rms for viewing the Aurora Borealis away from artificial lights.

You will have time to view the small Aurora exhibition and to sit outside under the dark night sky. On a clear night, hopefully you will see the Northern Lights dancing across the sky above.

Optional extra: We also offer our clients the chance to include a welcome drink and four-course traditional evening meal, influenced by Nordic cuisine when arriving earlier in the evening at the Sky Station, ask for details.

After your evening at the Abisko Aurora Sky station you will defend from the mountain and be transferred back to your hotel.

We have included standard grade accommodation for you this evening, with breakfast included. If you would like to stay in ore comfort there are some lovely luxury log cabins as an optional upgrade, please ask for details.

Day 2 

Today you will be transferred from Abisko Aurora Sky Station to the ICEHOTEL (approx 1hr 45 mins depending on weather conditions). Enjoy a complimentary orientation tour of the ICEHOTEL (subject to arrival time) before spending your first night in an Ice Room – a spacious room with unique ice furniture (you can upgrade to an Art Suite or Deluxe Suite, please ask for details.). This evening we will make a dinner reservation for you at one of the restaurants (dinner & drinks payable locally).

Day 3:

After the experience of sleeping on ice, you are awoken with a mug of hot lingonberry juice ready for the days activities ahead.

This morning enjoy the 4 hour Tap Line Husky sled trip. Lean how to mush your own dog sled on this exciting trip with lunch included.

Return in good time for you to check in to your warm accommodation where you will spend the next 2 nights.

This evening why not experience the Northern Lights by Snowmobile tour which lasts approx 4 hours and includes a traditional evening meal.

Day 4:

A final opportunity to enjoy the sights of the ICEHOTEL before you depart for your journey home (if departing on a later flight why not enjoy another excursion).
